MacMillan-Birtles Is One of the Ensembles Within MacMillan United Pipe Bands. It Joined the Organization in 2004 and Participates in Pipe-Band Competitions.

MacMillan-Birtles is the Grade 3 ensemble within MacMillan United Pipe Bands. Founded in 2004, it has competed in the United States, Canada, and Scotland.
MacMillan United
The organization began with MacMillan Pipe Band in 2001 following a reunion of alumni from local high school pipe bands. MacMillan-Birtles joined in 2004, followed by MacMillan-Dunn in 2012.
MacMillan United promotes piping and drumming through performance, competition, and opportunities for musicians to develop their skills. Its ensembles compete at Grade 2 (MacMillan Pipe Band), Grade 3 (MacMillan-Birtles), and Grade 4 (MacMillan-Dunn).
Silver Jubilee
MacMillan United celebrates its 25th anniversary on October 17, 2026, at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center in Maryland.
